ok so im in search of my perfect engagement ring- my BF said i could pick it out and initially i wanted an aquamarine so i found a couple that i loved (which ranged from $118.00- 400.00- and the one that was 118. was my fav), then i searched for some regular diamond rings and when i looked on QVC i found diamonique rings that i love and they are like under $100- my question is do you think that im wrong for wanting somthin that is under 100 when my BF wants to get somthin like in the 1,000 range- i mean its nice and all but i dont see the need to buy somthin thats that expensive when he could use it on somthin like a house or put it in savings- hes dosnt have any financial problems either- i just dont want him to buy somthin that expensive

Good for you! For some girls its all about the bling. I think what you’re doing is smart! If you can find something you absolutely LOVE for that cheap, then there’s no reason not to do it…you can use the leftover money on the wedding, honeymoon, or you’re right even on a house. I dont think youre crazy, i think you’re smarter than most…

read in the newspaper that a geologist went to a flea market and saw a man

an extremely large aquamarine; as I remember, it weighed 50 pounds. He

Iguess many definitions are relative. I define EVIL as taking advantage of a postion of power and I think knowledge is power. (what if the seller were retarded?) To me a sin is an evil deed. And also, to me a ‘crime’ is defined by society as such. I feel that many evil deeds (sins) are not crimes. I asked this question because I wondered what most people think. Such an act would bother my conscience – referring to the person talking about what is in one’s mind. However, some people will steal or kill and it will not bother their conscience. I wonder what standards we should aspire to, regardless of whether the act is legal or not.

Using one’s superior knowledge to take adavantage of another is a sin. All sins are "evil" but to different degrees, I expect. What the man did was steal; that is taking somebody elses property without paying a fair price.

It was probably "legal" but still "evil"…or a sin. For example, killing children is "legal" in the United States, but it’s also evil. God has a much higher moral standard than does mankind. I guess that’s why He’s God!

If the buyer had told the seller that the piece was worth millions of dollars, and the seller still said $10.00 was a fair price, then it would have been an honest transaction.

All people have a moral obligation to teach the truth to others. Knowledge is power given from God and is not to be used for selfish purposes.

I am enthusiastic whit birthstone now, but I just approach them few days ago, so it is difficult to associate there rocks name and what they look like.

I am due Feb. 23rd with a baby boy. This means that his birthstone will be Amethyst (purple) I think this is too girly for a boy and won’t be able to get him things with his birthstone and when he’s older he won’t want anything purple either (ie his class ring) So, I am secretly hoping that I have him March 1st, being my first pregnancy and all it is very likely i could have him six days late. Aquamarine is much better for a boy than Amethyst.

What is your take on this?

I mean technically it shouldn’t matter as long as the baby comes in time healthy and well [=. I do understand that you don’t want your boy to have a ‘girly’ birthstone, but you never know he might like purple one day. I wouldn’t worry about it.
