How much would this engagement ring cost?

Posted by admin on November 15th, 2009 and filed under aquamarine rings | 8 Comments »

I would like a one carat brilliant cut aquamarine set in 14k white gold with three 1/16 carat brilliant cut diamonds on each side of the center stone. How much would this cost to have made? I know I can go to a jeweler, but I would like some opinions before I go waste my time talking with them if I cannot afford it. Thanks!

definitely no more then 300-400 at the most.

Is there any problem if I don’t get my birthstone on my class ring?

Posted by admin on November 15th, 2009 and filed under aquamarine ring | 4 Comments »

Alright, I’m a guy, and I’m getting a class ring. I am also into the idea that certain stones give abilities to you (i.e. luck, health, knowledge, ect). I was thinking of getting a stone other than my birthstone. Will there be any negative spiritual effects if I don’t get my birthstone? Oh right, my birthstone is aquamarine, but i’m planning on getting topaz.

No there wont lol theres know such thing as luck get whatever u want

I have a necklace and just want to make sure what kind of stone is in the inlay. I got is as a graduation present over 10 years ago, and i know about 300 dollars where spent on the necklace. the stone is a light blue…that must be aquamarine right?

yeah it could or it may be turquoise or blue topaz. Perhaps blue tourmaline.

Go to this website to help you figure this out:

Aquamarine engagement ring.?

Posted by admin on November 12th, 2009 and filed under aquamarine ring | 13 Comments »

I really want an aquamarine engagement ring, but I’ve read different things about them. I know it has a hardness rating of around 7.5 to 8. The one I’m looking at has the aquamarine as the center stone, and it’s surrounded by diamonds.

Anyway, some websites say that aquamarine is suitable for everyday wear and others say it isn’t and that it’s more suitable for occasional wear. Since it would be my engagement ring I’d be wearing it pretty much everyday.

I really love the color, and I don’t want just a plain diamond ring, but I also want something that is durable. My boyfriend and I don’t know much about rings, and we’re getting tired of searching for a definitive answer. Any help would be appreciated.
Educated Women- Engagement rings are not only diamonds, and I certainly wasn’t aware that you only had to wear your birthstone. I guess I should get rid of my amethyst jewelry. I don’t care if people don’t think it’s an engagement ring. I will.

Everyone else: I didn’t mean to refer to diamonds as plain. I think they are beautiful, I just don’t prefer them. Thanks for the responses!

I have a ring with a large aquamarine oval stone in the middle and little circle diamonds all around. (my birthstone for March) I have worn it as an occasion ring, but also quite often to work and it has held up very well. I think it is a great idea to have an engagement ring that is out of the norm! The only problem I have had with my ring is the prong settings around the outside. I have lost two of the small diamonds so far, and getting them replaced is expensive! So, coming from a person who is hard on jewelry, I would say go with the aquamarine!

Christmas gift for my boyfriend?

Posted by admin on November 12th, 2009 and filed under aquamarine jewelry | 3 Comments »

My boyfriend and I are really close and serious and by Christmas we will have been going out for10 months.
This winter break, however, my boyfriend is going on a cruise with his family. He’ll be gone the whole break so I won’t see him.
I want to get him something sweet and small that I can give to him to take with him and open on Christmas.

I was thinking a James Avery ring, but I’m not sure if a guy would like that?
a March remembrance ring (we started going out in march) http://secure.jamesavery.com/jewelry/search/product/R-1410AQ/Avery-Remembrance-Ring-with-Aquamarine-(March)/
or just a plain ring: http://secure.jamesavery.com/jewelry/search/product/WB-74/Forever-Band/

which of these or any other ideas? Please help!

keep in mind the pronunciation of the vowels

i- ee
u -ooh
e – eh
and
o – oh

aquamarine – a ku a ma ri n

all together that is – akuamarin

indigo – indigo – but since they don’t really have the di sound it is made with a ti softened to a di but since they don’t have just ti neither it may come out sounding like i n ji go or alltogether injigo

blue – buru^
the ^ in blue means to hold your ooh out longer

How much is this jewelry worth and should I even sell it?

Posted by admin on November 7th, 2009 and filed under aquamarine jewelry | 2 Comments »

I have some jewlery that I am thinking about selling/pawning. Most of it I either do not, nor will ever wear or they are mismatched pieces (one earring with the other missing, etc) or they are loose stones.
The jewelry includes
1 24kt gold 1/4ct diamond stud
1 14kt gold 1/5ct diamond stud
1 loose 1/4 ct flawless citrine
1 14kt gold white opal earring
1 14kt gold pendant with 1/5 ct aquamarine

If I sell them I would put the money in savings or use it to help finish paying off my credit card.
Could anyone tell me what a good total for these items would be worth? Should I even sell them or save them? Is their value worth more as jewelry or monetarily?

Sell it, you never wear / will never wear. Although the fact that some is missing will make the price go down. I don’t think anyone on Yahoo answers will be able to give you a decent price range – go to a FEW gold inspectors who will buy gold off you and see what they all say.

You probably won’t get enough to make it worth your effort. 14 kt gold is barely over 50% gold and the pieces you list are very small. You also need to make sure they’re solid 14 kt gold rather than just plated or filled. With the exception of the one 24 kt stud what you have is considered costume jewelry. A mismatched piece isn’t worth anything to another person so you’d basically be selling it for scrap. I’d be very surprised if you got $20 for everything. But you can check with a gold buyer or pawn shop easy enough.
