My fiance and I have decided to start off with a modest ring (we’re both pursuing master’s degrees and can’t afford too much). I think that sounds like a great idea! I know he wont like this suggestion, but maybe show him the 3 or 4 that you like and tell him to surprise you, but that you would be happy with any of them. I wouldn’t want to completely pick out my engagement ring. Congratulations.
