Several years ago I was flipping through a bridal magazine and fell in love with a Aquamarine Vera Wang ring (I believe from the Candy collection). Now that the time is approaching were we have been looking at rings, Vera Wang discontinued her jewelry line making the search for the ring near impossible. Does anybody know where I could find a ring similar (or the exact ring)? Thank you for any suggestions.

I got a Vera Wang ring for my graduation and let me tell you–it was the biggest piece of trash ever. What was supposed to be a memory piece to hold on to for the rest of my life turned out to be garbage. It turned in about a month and the jeweler said "it gives it personality." I didn’t want personality. It looked simply terrible. Luckily, the jeweler refunded the purchase and I got something else.
A couple of months ago (and a few years after that incident), I was looking at some Vera Wang in a glass case at Kohl’s. The woman behind the counter told me not to bother with those pieces as they turn very easily–even though they claimed to be sterling or white gold. I relayed my story, and another woman over heard and shared a similar experience.
All that said, if you still have your heart set on Vera Wang, you can find her at Kohl’s. It’s significantly cheaper than it was four years ago. And I guess it’s obvious why.
I think you should go to a jeweler. I, too, am getting an aquamarine (I actually get to pick it up tomorrow!) and find a setting that you like and just add an aquamarine. It shouldn’t be too difficult.

Just wondering if this is or is not common.
My fiance got an aquamarine engagement ring for me and I am having a very hard time finding a ring that will sit nicely next to it that will be the wedding band.
Someone suggested "just buy a standard wedding band and wear your engagement ring on your other hand".
What do you think? Will it look weird wearing my engagement ring on my right hand with just a band on my left?
I love my engagement ring. The difficulty is that the stone is set fairly low, it is a rectangular shape, so the band actuall "steps" out. I’ve tried ring wraps and guards, but they tend to be made for round center stones and they look a tad awkward with my rectangular ring. I can get away with it, but I am thinking of this idea of just wearing the band on my left hand.
What do you think?
A Custom made ring is out of our price-range. I looked at a curved band with small diamond chips that looked nice, nothing that screamed ‘thats the perfect band for my engagement ring’ and its price tag was $1,600.
We were only budgeting for $1,000 for both of our rings – we wanted to keep them simple.
I only wear my engagement ring as a wedding ring. I had the same problem. I couldn’t find a band that I liked with my ring. I just decided that I would only wear the engagement (now wedding) ring. I have gotten 2-3 snooty comments from people who are in the dark ages but most people don’t even notice.

I have looked since I was younger for the "perfect ring" i would hopefully some day get from the guy who asks me to marry him. My fiance bought my engagement ring from Israel Diamonds based in Israel.
A ring that cost him a 1,000 is appraised at over 3,000 in U.S.
My ring: Band is 6. weight 18 Karat White Gold. The band is not typically solid. It can be best described as two bands, twisted once on the side. So the bottom and top is connected, but the sides have a gap.
Heart shape 1.50 Medium Royal blue excellent color grading Sapphire.
You can custom make it as my fiance did. He placed my birthstone (which is my favorite color) shaped heart, with an unique design of a band.
When I got my ring re-sized, the jeweler, which the place is very high class, with everyone else see’s how gorgeous it is compared to the traditional "diamond ring".
Him and I are going to get our custom made wedding rings from there too.

In my opinion the first is gorgeous!
but you might want to check out local jewelers as well…sometimes they have wonderful pieces and they are often times better quality then those mall jewelry stores.
