Here is the ring

the setting is unreal for the price, antique looking but the stone is kinda too big for my taste and protrudes, do you think a jeweler can do anything with this so the center stone doesnt stick out so much, even if it means putting a smaller stone in it which actually 1 ct would be perfect.
Most jewelers would not want to work on a prefabricated ring. If it doesn’t come out the way you want it, they will be liable for modifications of the ring.
I got this ring and i love it all but the center stone..lol, can a jeweler do something to improve it?
should i tell my boyfriend?
my boyfriend of 2 1/2 years bought me a really expensive diamond and aquamarine ring for my birthday. it is really pretty, but it’s not really my style and i probably wont wear it much. should i tell him so i can exchange it? i reallllly don’t want to hurt his feelings!! what should i do?!
I think you should wear it regardless if it is your normal style or not. You need to realize that he picked it out for you out of love and spent a lot of money on it for you. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but that is my opinion.
does an engagement ring have to be a diamond?
i was wondering does the ring have to be a diamond? or could it be a gem such as aquamarine? what’s the tradition behind the diamond?
Absolutely not. As long as you are prepared for "What kind of stone is that?" and "Is that not a diamond?," a e-ring can be anything you want it to. (Yes, people will ask).
To my knowledge, the diamond tradition was started by DeBeers in a marketing campaign.
How much would this engagement ring cost?
I would like a one carat brilliant cut aquamarine set in 14k white gold with three 1/16 carat brilliant cut diamonds on each side of the center stone. How much would this cost to have made? I know I can go to a jeweler, but I would like some opinions before I go waste my time talking with them if I cannot afford it. Thanks!
definitely no more then 300-400 at the most.
Birthstone/ Mother rings?
I am looking into a ring or necklace with my daughter’s and my birthstone. When I was looking though it seems the birthstones have changed? I always thought it was:
January: Garnet
February: Amethyst
March: Aquamarine
April: Diamond
May: Emerald
June: Pearl
July: Ruby
August: Peridot
September: Sapphire
October: Opal
November: Yellow Topaz
December: Blue Topaz
Does anyone know if this for sure is right… this is what I have always known… but I see there are a lot more options!! Someone help. Thanks
The list you have is a traditional list and is still valid. There are all kinds of revisions of this list which can be considered if you want.
I think the other versions are for people that don’t like their birthstone or can’t afford it. Those people have an alternative.
My birthday is in December and I have heard blue zircon, turquoise, blue topaz, and blue sapphire all as the stone for that month.
What type of ring it this?
Im trying to look for a class ring that’s original, not bulky and that is the aquamarine color….
Also, if you have any pictures of rings or and ideas please let me know..
and i like this style or ring and was wondering what its called:

thanks!!
That style is called a "dinner ring" because the style is large and has cut sparkly stones in it.
It is an Aquamarine stone in the center. It is very pretty. I like it too.
Class rings usually have room on the outer ring for engraved name of school and graduation date. I found one of many website for freestyle class rings here:

Curved or Notched Wedding Bands?
Anyone have some recommendations on places to find them?
I just returned from the jeweler who made my engagement ring and was slightly disappointed.
I have an aquamarine center stone with diamonds on the side for my engagement ring. It doesn’t look good with a plain band beside it. I was hoping to find an aquamarine ring, but they don’t make any that are curved or notched to accomodate my center stone. The store had a very nice looking 5-stone diamond one, but the cost was over $1,600.
That is a bit above what we were hoping to spend so I am looking for alternate places to buy the band.
Where have you looked?
My center stone is 2.5 carats.
I was hoping to spend less than $1,000 on my band, and in order to custom-make a band we’re looking at $2,500 minimum (makes the $1,600 look much better for our budget).
There are chevron (v-shaped) bands, or you could try enhancers/wraps.
Here are some examples for shape -

There are lots on this site – depends on how big your centre stone is -
