How would you rank these gemstones?

Posted by admin on August 27th, 2009 and filed under aquamarine stones | 3 Comments »

in order of how cool you think they are.

The stones are: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, Diamond, Orange topaz, Opal, Turquoise

I know there are lots more so rank those too if you like.
but you only have to rank these.

For me they go:
1. Aquamarine
2. Ruby
3. Amethyst
4. Emerald
5. Sapphire
6. Orange Topaz
7. Diamond
8. Opal
9. Turquoise

opal…..my birthstone it was also in a promise ring I had.
Amethyst……….georgeous!
Emerald…..beautiful
Turquoise very pretty
sapphire pretty
aquamarine…… the quartz or greenish ones are second
the Beryl, blue streaked I like better
Diamond …..their value
orange topaz
Ruby………it is my mother’s birthstone

neat question!!

Aquamarine – 13.44 ct.

people who have stones that are not diamonds….?

Posted by admin on August 25th, 2009 and filed under aquamarine stones | 14 Comments »

what do you think of this? i had never thought about it but i’ve seen a few people mention it and recently my bf asked me what i thought about a colored stone…. i feel like i’ll worry about it "matching" all the time (i’m already thinking about how it will look if i have a white gold ring and i’m wearing yellow gold jewelry!! lol)… i’m pretty simple in my tastes… i buy most all my accessories and such in basic brown and black so it matches everything lol i was just wondering if other people went this way (or were surprised with it) and how they ended up liking it. i saw an aquamarine ring i thought was really pretty.
cupcake- thank you i hadn’t even thought of that!
thanks guys! i’m liking the idea more and more!

I have a friend who has a diamond center flanked by several sapphires (the diamond was an heirloom stone).

When I got engaged, I told my fiance I had wanted either amethyst or opal, not diamond, because I didn’t feel it was necessary to pay so much for something so plain. He gave me a diamond family heirloom ring, which is perfect (no wasted money, but tons of sentimental value, beauty, and character).

Go here:
http://kvetch.indiebride.com/index.php?t=msg&th=22627&start=0&rid=0&S=f81908334b0f0bf20a3a10010412afb9

You’ll see tons of rings of all sorts of shapes and colors. In fact, I find the colored stone rings to be the most beautiful, because they are unique and interesting. They really reflect a lot of personality. I don’t really care for engagement rings, but I like looking at threads like this for some eye candy.

There’s also a couple of threads on http://www.offbeatbride.com, but you have to register there.

Try black diamonds, if you wear black a lot. They’re much cheaper but still unique and neutral. But honestly, go with whatever. Even if it doesn’t match, it’s the engagement ring. I mean it’s weird for some of us who have white gold rings to wear yellow gold jewelry, but it’s the engagement ring! It’s got it’s own meaning!

I dress pretty plainly as well (I hate patterns, haha), and jewelry isn’t my typical thing. But enjoy what you do wear, an don’t think about it ‘not matching’. It’s a symbol.

Advanced astrologers… Star Stones??

Posted by admin on August 21st, 2009 and filed under aquamarine stones | 2 Comments »

What do you think the star stone for Scorpio is? I went to google, and every page I pulled up had a different answer.

A couple said Opal, The same with Topaz, and then I got some I’ve never heard of for this sign, like Aquamarine. And to top it off some I’ve never heard of at all, like Beryl and Red Carnelian?

What do you think it is??

Opal & Tourmaline=October Scorpio
Topaz=November Scorpio
