I recently got engaged and would love to have a wedding band that has aquamarine in it (the birthstone for both myself and my fiance). I would love to use an insert or wrap as a wedding band because that’s what my Mom had. I don’t know if a jeweler could make something like this?
Absolutely, a good jeweler can make something like this, but it will likely need to be a custom job.
Start looking in your area for good custom jewelers. Also, consider that most commercially available aquamarines (i.e. mall store aquamarine) are almost colorless and have little value. Fine aquamarine should be a distinct watery blue – the deeper blue the more valuable. You may even want to speak with some custom cutters about sourcing quality aquamarine stones for you.
Custom designing a ring can be a VERY fun process. It may sound overwhelming at first, but it is so rewarding!
Once you’ve found a great custom jeweler, first, come up with a ring design you want to go with (pictures/drawings of design elements you want, then jeweler will create computer images, then a wax mold will be made with the finished ring design, then cast the metal). See if the jeweler can source high quality stones for you. If not, find out the millimeter measurements that the setting requires for the aquamarines, and contact a custom cutter.
Here are a few gemstone cutters:
Jeff White: http://www.whitesgems.com
Gary Braun: http://www.finewatergems.com
The below link shows a picture of a finished custom ring. Gary Braun sourced and cut the stone and Brian Gavin designed the ring. This will give you an idea of the quality you get from each of these vendors and the quality you should be looking for from a local jeweler if you go that route: http://www.finewatergems.com/customer-gallery.html
Pictures of, links to pictures, either one.
I googled "Emma Roberts" for you and found a fan site of hers. In the photo gallery, they have caps of the movie "Aquamarine" and there are some pics of Emma’s character Claire’s room. Here’s the website: http://www.fabulous-emma.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=295
There are a few on the first page, but i’m sure there will be more later on. Good luck finding them.
i have blonde hair just like sara paxton. i was thinking about getting the same color highlights she had in the movie aquamarine. would that be weird or does it sound cool? also please send me any pictures you ahve of sara’s hair like this from the movie to show the hair dresser. thank you!
I’ve never seen the movie so I found a pic on google images (http://www.ocregister.com/newsimages/show/2006/03/3aquamarine.jpg) and I was expecting them to be really tacky but actually, they are sort of cute- I like how they’re not too too aqua, just sort of light-colored and pale. For summer I think it’d be fun- so maybe they could be tempoary?
I have a dress that color and I want to add a bow sash under the bust.
I’d stick to dark colors, like a black or deep purple.

Who else wants there to be a Aquamarine 2 movie?
I do!! I think on the second one they should show the father, I totally love that movie, I can watch it 1 million times and I won’t get tired of it, it’s such a beautiful movie.
Aquamarine is the blue or blue-green member of the beryl family and is ranked 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs’ scale. The colors of aquamarine range from the lightest blue of the sky to the deepest blue of the sea, hence the name, but the most valuable are those aquamarines deepest in tone and color saturation. Women all over the world love aquamarine because its color suits almost any complexion or eye color. Aquamarine is the traditional birthstone for March.
The name "topaz" likely originated from Topazos, an ancient Red Sea island. Topaz can be yellow, orange, light to dark blue, pink-red, red, violet, light green, and colorless. Some are enhanced with colorful treatments to create special effects. On Mohs’ hardness scale, topaz is a tough 8. Sources include Brazil (Minas Gerais), Afghanistan, Australia, Myanmar (Burma), China, Japan, Madagascar, Mexico, Namibia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia (Urals, Transbaikalia), Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, and the U.S.
I’ve been looking everywhere for that color, but they’re always too blue for my skintone.
Thanks
Go to the International Gem and Jewelry shows. You have a big selection and if not, talk to the exhibitors and maybe they can recommend something.
Its the very last song in the movie, right before the credits start. Its not the song "Connected" and its not any of the songs on the soundtrack. I’m not sure if the song has any words or not, but it’s very pretty.
wasn’t Island in the Sun by Wheezer playing at the end?
about the movie:
***************************************
Two teenage girls, Claire (Emma Roberts) and Hailey (JoJo), live at the coast of Florida and regret that they will be separated in five days, since Hailey has to move to Australia because of her mother’s job. One night, after a violent storm they find a mermaid, named Aquamarine (Sara Paxton) in the swimming pool of their beach club. The girls are frightened at first, but then curious. They start to talk with Aquamarine and promise her they will be back in the morning.
When they return, they find Aquamarine in the beach’s snack shack, but with a human body instead of a mermaid’s. Aquamarine tells them she can ume human form on land during the day if she does not get wet. Claire and Hailey befriend Aquamarine, who tells them that she came to land to find love — an idea she knows nothing about, but desires desperately. She tells them that she made a deal with her father: if she finds love in three days, she will not undergo an arranged marriage. She immediately notices a handsome lifeguard named Raymond (Jake McDorman) and enlists the help of the two girls to win his heart in return for the granting of a wish. The girls see their opportunity to keep Hailey from moving and immediately start helping her. Claire and Hailey’s rival — a spoiled, rich girl, Cecilia (Arielle Kebbel) — tries her best to stop them, but fails. Also prominent is an eccentric, compassionate caretaker, Leonard, who rescues Aquamarine from public discovery. Eventually, it is not Raymond that convinces Aquamarine that humans can love, but Claire and Hailey, who are willing to give up their wish and their lives in the aiding of a friend.
