Bipolar disorder is also called BPD or known as manic depression and it is a condition that is characterized by extreme mood changing swings. Mood swings occur in almost everyone; but, a person with bipolar disorder experiences extreme conditions of both depression and intense elation as well as over optimism.
Sometimes it is dangerous since the depression might be so severe these people can’t seem to function normally through those times and also think about or act on suicidal thoughts. On the other hand, the energized mood (upswing) may lead to high risk behavior such as over spending, and actions they may not otherwise do.
A lot of people with bipolar mood disorder may also have intervals of normality between the moodiness when they act and feel much as everyone else. Certain people with BPD might experience mood swings often and of shorter duration while others could have lengthier periods of each mood.
