I am constantly asked what the secret to vertical jump training is.
My answer is always the same: “There is no secret!”
The only way to jump higher is to learn the correct way to train for explosiveness.
This is done by combining weight training with plyometrics.
The weights will build your strength, while the plyometrics will improve your speed.
When you’re lifting weights, focus on lifting HEAVY and FAST.
This will ensure that you recruit your fast twitch muscle fibers and generate maximum force while jumping.
When you’re doing plyometrics, always focus on performing the exercises as fast as you can while maintaining the correct form.
